EXECUTION OF THE PROJECT

 Introduction

I'm excited as we begin our project, "Hacking The Future – Breaking Barriers, Building Tomorrow." This project consists of four modules: Programming For Newbies, Making A Wise Choice, Cyber Warriors' Odyssey, and The Next Golden Decade. Each module will be conducted on Saturdays, including the opening and closing ceremonies, spanning a total of four weeks. Prior to each module, there will be meetings for all committee members to discuss the details and plan for that specific module. Regrettably, I was unable to participate in module 1, Programming For Newbies, as I competed in the Programming National League (PLN) on the same day, May 13, 2023.

Module 2 --- Making A Wise Choice (27 May 2023)

Due to the PLN competition and MyTech Career Fair, module 2 of our project, initially scheduled for May 20, had to be rescheduled due to venue unavailability. Fortunately, with the approval of Dr. Azah, we were able to secure a new venue at Dewan Sri Mutiara in Kolej Kediaman Kinabalu (KK8), enabling us to continue with the project.

This module consisted of three activities: "Should I or Should I Not?", "Knowing It Better", and "Every Cent Counts". Participants engaged in small discussions and presentations as they learned to identify and compare device specifications. The focus was on making informed decisions and spending money wisely to choose devices that best fit their needs, rather than solely opting for popular or branded options.

During the first activity, participants were presented with a scenario where their laptop unexpectedly malfunctioned just before an important test. All team members actively engaged in the discussion, contributing diverse perspectives and suggesting various solutions to address the situation.

During the second activity, my group opted to compare IOS and Android. They conducted thorough online research and documented key aspects to consider for the comparison.

During the third activity, participants were presented with a scenario of being time travelers from 1945 to 2023. With limited remaining funds of RM 5000, they had to select a company, job positions, and determine the necessary device models. They were encouraged to justify their choices, fostering rational, creative, and innovative thinking among the participants.

Module 3 --- Cyber Warriors’ Odyssey (3 June 2023)

Due to the rescheduling of module 2, module 3 and module 4 were conducted on the same day at the Faculty of Computer Science. Module 2 took place in the morning session, followed by module 3 in the afternoon session.

Azhar delivered a brief presentation on the topic of cybersecurity prior to the start of the game for each checkpoints. I collaborated with Carmen, Dernice, Esther, and Jin Khye for checkpoint 3. Together, we prepared a set of 20 questions encompassing modules 1, 2, and 3 to assess the participants. The competition consisted of two rounds, with each round featuring 10 questions. Correct answers earned teams 10 marks, while no marks were awarded for incorrect responses. The team with the highest score at the end would be declared the winner, and the losing team would face the punishment of singing the University Malaya anthem. In the event of a tie, both teams would perform the song together.

Module 4 --- The Next Golden Decade (3 June 2023)

This module was conducted in the afternoon after a lunch break. It was a great pleasure to have our senior, Sam Wei Hong, as the speaker for this module.

Onn Yee Sem provided a brief introduction to AI, followed by a demonstration on creating a short video using AI-generated images, voice, and music tracks by our speaker. He utilized popular AI tools like chatGPT, Leonardo.AI, Stable Diffusion, ClipChamp, and AIVA to enhance video production skills. Participants gained valuable insights for engaging with the community on social media effectively.

Following the demonstration, participants were given 30 minutes to create their own videos using the AI tools. Engaging in a collaborative session, they discussed and selected the genre of their stories, opting for the most satisfying narrative generated by ChatGPT.

Closing Ceremony (3 June 2023)
Following module 4, a closing ceremony was held, featuring speeches from Dr. Azah and our vice director Justin to thank the committees and participants. Winners of the TikTok challenge and overall winners were awarded based on their module scores.
